New (Old) Short Story Added!
As part of the ongoing effort to move my writing to the site, I’ve added one of my more recent short stories, “The Day I Almost Changed My Mind”. Enjoy!

One Month In … Whattya Think?
Tempus fugit and all that, but it’s been a month since I posted And We Have Website!, the first post of actual content made to the New! Improved! gneech.com [1].
Whattya think so far? What have you liked or disliked the most? What would you like to see more of? Right now I’m still in fairly experimental mode, trying to work out how much interesting (or at least potentially interesting) content I can post here without it distracting from getting my “professional” writing done. My goal has been to post at least two “substantive” things a week (whether an opinion piece, a fictionlet, a book review, or something similar), peppered with a few more random tidbits every day or every other day. So far it seems to be a good schedule, but I’d be curious to hear if my readers think it’s too much, too little, or if they’d like to see the mix changed.
(Note: I make no promises to accommodate readers’ wishes … I’m pretty notorious for asking everybody’s advice then just doing whatever it is I think is right anyway. But I like to know where I stand before I go jumping off the cliff.)
Lastly, I’d like to know how you got here. I expect most people reading this are doing so through my LiveJournal, which has been acting as a more personal sort of proto-blog for almost a decade now … but I know that some of you out there have come through Facebook and even a few from Twitter, so give a shout-out and let me know who you are!

[1] A little in-joke, there. Back in the ooooold days of the web, my AOL homepage was titled “The Gneech’s New! Improved! World Wide Web Page.” Ah, the ’90s, you seem so, I dunno, “over a decade ago,” now.
Testing, Testing (Revisited)
I am attempting to crosspost to my Facebook fan page via gneech.com. I apologize for a zero-content post that you may end up seeing in seven or eight different places … such is the nature of configuring social media.

EDIT: Well, nevermind, it seems to be broken and now Facebook claims I’ve been “labeled as abusive” anyway. What the heck, Facebook? The whole thing was your idea in the first place.

Thank You, Whoever You Are! :D
According to Amazon, I’ve sold one copy each of the collected Fictionlets on the Kindle. Smashwords doesn’t have any sales listed yet for other platforms, but hopefully that will come in time.
Meanwhile, that means I’ve officially made a sale! Woohoo! Sure, it’s only netted me $0.70, but every journey starts with a single step and all that. Besides, as of last night I’ve got a gig writing a short story for an upcoming indie anthology, so if things continue at this rate I’ll be chugging along nicely in short order. (That reminds me, I need to update the Bibliography page.)
Ah, writing. I’ve missed you, my old friend!

Brigid and Greg E-Books, W00t!
Because I love you all, I spent the weekend compiling the Brigid and Greg fictionlets into e-book form, two volumes of 100 fictionlets each which should be much easier to read than going post-by-post here on gneech.com. You can get them here:
These two volumes will bring you almost up-to-date (into late 2009, anyway); from there, I have in mind to do a new volume for every hundred new fictionlets.
As far as I can tell, every major e-book platform is represented, although it may take a little while for the books to propagate to Sony, B&N, and so on. I know for a fact that they’re already available for Stanza (the version the goofy mug in the photo above is holding). The cost is a low, low $0.99 (which is basically the minimum amount that most distributors will let me charge).
Since the books went up, I’ve had inquiries about doing print versions, and I’ll be looking into that in the not-too-distant future as well, probably digest-size and distributed via Merchandise Maven. Meanwhile, fire up your Kindle/Nook/phone/iPad (*sob*) and enjoy!
(Oh, and it’s worth mentioning that even if you don’t have a separate e-reader, you can download free copies of Stanza, the Kindle reader, and so forth, or even just grab the books in good old-fashioned “plain text” and read ‘em in your word processor of choice if you’re so inclined.)
Enjoy!
