“Now that’s what I call thinking. ‘ere, Vroomfondel, ‘ow come we never think of things like that?” said Alex.

“Dunno,” said Greg. “I think our brains must be too highly trained, Majikthise.”

Brigid, wandering in at this stage, brandished a pair of $10 bills at them. “I think my change from lunch needs to relax,” she said. “It’s two tens.”

“What?” said Alex.

“That doesn’t make any sense,” said Greg. “Your lunch made you tense?”

“Not me,” said Brigid, waving the bills at him. “My change. It needs to relax.”

“Your change needs to relax,” said Greg, flatly.

“Yes. Because it’s two tens.”

Greg looked over at Alex as if Brigid’s hair was on fire, then back to her. “Would you rather have four fives?”

“No!” said Brigid. “My change needs to relax because it’s two tens!!

Greg’s eyes widened. “It’s not the only one,” he said.

“Aw, geeze, forget it!” said Brigid, and stormed out.

“I love doing that to her,” Greg said, after she was gone.

“Live dangerously, don’t you?” said Alex.
